The Path4Med consortium met in Tirana for a three-day Partner Meeting, bringing together 26 organisations from 16 countries to strengthen towards cleaner and more sustainable agro-hydro systems across the Mediterranean and associated regions.
The sessions focused on progress updates, coordination across demonstration sites, and joint planning for upcoming activities. Partners also explored synergies with the sister project SeaCure and discussed practical ways to link research, policy, and local action in addressing water and soil pollution.
By combining research excellence with field-level demonstrations, Path4Med continues to advance its mission of safeguarding the Mediterranean sea basin and other European ecosystems and promoting circular, cross-border solutions.
An important topic discussed during the meeting was the upcoming Path4Med Open Call, which will be coordinated by reframe.food. Through this Open Call, Path4Med will provide funding to five local or regional authorities from across the Southern Mediterranean, Western Balkans, Baltic Sea, and Black Sea regions. The goal is to help these communities adopt, test, and expand innovative solutions developed within the project, turning research results into tangible environmental impact.
reframe.food will oversee the entire process, from preparing and promoting the call to monitoring and supporting the selected projects. To ensure transparency and fairness, the Open Call will be managed through opencalls.fund, reframe.food’s dedicated online platform that simplifies submissions, evaluations, and communication with applicants. This system has already been used successfully in several other Horizon Europe projects, helping organisations access funding opportunities in a clear and reliable way.
The discussions in Tirana highlighted Path4Med’s collaborative spirit and shared purpose, connecting partners who work together to turn innovative ideas into real-world impact. The meeting was a valuable opportunity to strengthen connections, exchange expertise, and reaffirm a collective vision for cleaner and healthier water and soil ecosystems.
