Small and medium-sized farms (SMFs) face significant barriers in adopting digital technologies, including high costs, lack of digital skills, and a shortage of tools tailored to their specific needs. This digital divide hinders their ability to transition toward more sustainable and resource-efficient farming systems. To address this challenge, FARMORY will consolidate a comprehensive catalogue of existing Research and Innovation (R&I) results.

The project will deploy a centralised Digital Platform equipped with tools like a Cost-Benefit Calculator, a Transferability Assessment service, and an AI-powered chatbot (FARMORYBot) to assist industrial providers in navigating and reusing these resources. FARMORY’s core demonstration mechanism is a €4.68 million Open Call, which will fund 26 Sustainable Innovation Projects (SIPs). These SIPs will bring together consortia of tech providers, researchers, and farmers to co-create, adapt, and pilot new Digital Agriculture Technology Solutions (DATS) in real-world conditions across various pedoclimatic zones and farming systems (conventional, organic, regenerative).

The expected value of FARMORY is the delivery of affordable, tailor-made digital tools that empower SMFs to sustainably manage inputs like water, fertilizers, and pesticides. By reducing the digital divide, the project will enhance the economic and environmental performance of European farms and drive the sector toward a zero-pollution ambition.
