On October 9-10, 2024, the future of agriculture took center stage at the 2nd International Workshop on Digital Innovation Ecosystems in Agri-Food, where experts from across the globe came together to explore how cutting-edge technologies are reshaping the agri-food sector. With advancements in AI, mechatronics, data analytics, and other digital innovations, agriculture is undergoing a significant transformation—from traditional, experience-based methods to a more knowledge-driven, data-centric approach.

The workshop featured thought-provoking discussions on the essential role that digital infrastructure plays in driving agricultural progress. Topics such as high-speed connectivity, IoT, dataspaces, computational power, and data management systems were highlighted as crucial for enhancing productivity, sustainability, and resilience in farming.

reframe.Food was honored to be a part of this transformative event as a proud partner of the Data4Food2030 project, one of the co-organizers of the workshop, alongside Wageningen University & Research. Our very own Dimitris Fotakidis, Partner at reframe.Food, delivered a compelling presentation on the emerging Data Spaces landscape and shared insights on the progress toward building a Common European Agricultural Data Space.

Dimitris emphasized the importance of creating an ecosystem where data-sharing and collaboration between stakeholders—from farmers and policymakers to tech innovators—can flourish. This vision is integral to achieving a sustainable, data-powered future for agriculture across Europe and beyond.

By integrating digital innovation into agri-food systems, we aim to help farmers adopt more efficient and eco-friendly practices, ultimately fostering a more resilient and sustainable agricultural landscape.

We are proud to contribute to this vital conversation and look forward to continuing our efforts to drive the digital transformation of agriculture.
