SOILSCAPE
Spreading Open and Inclusive Literacy and Soil Culture through Artistic Practices and Education
SOILSCAPE is a 4-year project dedicated to supporting the implementation of the mission “A Soil Deal for Europe”, which aims to transition towards healthy soils by 2030.
The project will harness the power of soil scientists, cultural and creative industries, artists, and civil society organisations to promote soil preservation across Europe and beyond.
SOILSCAPE’s goal is to drive transformation through a collaborative journey that enhances soil literacy, deep understanding and awareness of human-soil relationships, and fosters care for soil as a vital natural resource.
By facilitating closer collaboration among soil scientists, researchers, public authorities, artists, and communities, SOILSCAPE seeks to inspire a collective commitment to soil preservation. This will be achieved through the creation of a dynamic and territorial network of 8 Artistic Creative Soil Orchestras (ACSOs), formed in 8 EU countries as multidisciplinary impact multipliers to expand the project’s reach, promoting the project and its outcomes as well as the soil-related objectives of the EU and international organisation and projects.
Coordinated by the French Soil Science Society (AFES), SOILSCAPE involves a partnership of 19 organisations from 11 countries.
